Had some nice sleet and snow mix here in Cookeville between 1 and 2pm. It was nice while it lasted.

Sure was nice!! Another 6 hours or so of it with these sliding temperatures would have been nice! :)

Well, still light rain here  ::rain:: and 42 degrees outside.  The rain is hung up on the west side of the mountains with very little making it into North Carolina.  If the cold air catches up with the moisture we, too, may have a problem with some icy roads tonight, especially once that clearing gets here and temps drop like a rock after sunset.   ::panic::

WXFREAK...where is 'here'?

Oops...should've been more specific.   ::doh::Sorry, new here.  I live between Sevierville and Dandridge Tennessee on Douglas Lake.

As of 10:40 all precip has ended.  Had a little sleet/ snow mixture before it moved on.  The temperature is 30.5 and dropping quickly.  May have some icy roads in the morning.   :-\

The roads here in Giles County have a nice frosty slick feel. Be cautious if you are out and about tonight.

The following counties in east Tennessee as of 1am eastern time are reporting some county wide patches of snow and ice on area roadways. Please Exercise caution.

Johnson, Sullivan, and Unicoi.

Thought some of our eastern tn viewers could use this info.

Good morning all.  Woke up here in East Tennessee to a frozen car, and temps in the low 20's.   ::cold::  Apparently, we had a little freezing rain last night, because a few trees had a slight glaze on them.  The main roads had been salted, and were mostly ok.  The car was glazed over, and it took a bit of pulling to get the door open.  When I finally got it to open up it sounded like glass shattering when the ice broke.  I had to look at it twice to make sure it wasn't the glass...    :o
