Although there is evidence that an ENSO signal takes a little longer to impact large scale weather patterns, the STJ definitely strengthening. NBJ is also a bit south for this time of year - but that's largely due to the polar vortex that rotated out of Canada.

It's still a weak el Nino and we will have to see how strong it becomes. Any strengthening should occur before November when I think the pattern will start to show signs of fading into January. We shall see since I'm not a fan of long range forecasting.
