Man, what a summer!  I haven't been posting a whole lot lately, mostly because I've been lurking and reading, not having a huge deal to say.  Anyway.

An extreme summer!  Not anything here in Nashville that really turns records upside down, but combined above-average yet sub-record temperatures with humidity that would make the Louisiana Bayou and the Everglades proud, this was a summer to remember.  I'll remember the 98 degree heat with 110 degree heat indices, the mosquitoes, the butterflies, and the strange lack of summer thunderstorms (compared to other summers) due to the mercilessly strong ridge that did its very best to screw us.

It was a summer that basically started in late May and roared on all the way through my birthday and a little bit beyond, with very few nights below 70 and very few days below 90 until very late.  And we here in Middle Tennessee know that you people out in West Tennessee had it even worse, a fate I consider completely unimaginable; we know the folks in the middle Midwest had it even worse for a good part of the season, something I considered nearly impossible.

And though I would rather throw away my memories of this summer, I know that it is firmly imprimed into my memory and will not go away.  Just like this thread.  But here's hoping this thread gets locked and thrown under a freakin' bus!  I am considering this thread officially dead.  Well comatose.  But almost dead.  Finally we can bury this and all the troubles it has brought us.  Good riddance, summer!  The Century Club is NO MORE!!!

YEE-HAW!!!
