Looks like a pattern change is on the way
« on: August 12, 2010, 12:58:09 PM »
Models have been consistently showing a change in pattern coming around next Tuesday or Wednesday.  Looks like a nice push of cooler air coming from Canada.  It will be nice to get out from under this heat dome.

IIRC, the models have been showing a pattern shift that stays about 7-8 days out pretty consistently.  And I don't mean 7-8 days from now, I mean 7-8 days from whenever you look at the models. :P

Have faith man, this oppressive High has to break down at some point.   ::hot::   ::hot::

I'm so sick of summer.  This constant heat and humidity is awful.

I'm pretty sure that is taught in Model Mantra 101 during the first phase of the Meteorology program.  ::coffee::

Well so much for heat relief, models are backing off the cooler air making it this far south.  Dang I hate La Nina!!   ::hot::

yeah this la nina is starting to kick and getting stronger. it has a 50 percent chance to be the strongest nina recorded. and it could last well into spring 11. going to get interesting when the northern stream starts to come back south.

i am affraid its going to take more than a tropical disturbance to break the high pressure ridge down. it will take a strong progressive cold front ::hot::

This thing is brutal, it may not let the northern stream anywhere near us for the foreseeable future.

We're getting closer to when climatology says we start cooling down.  It's getting to be late August now.

LOL, probably.  It's just fun to watch for the 1st real August cold front to come through.  At this rate though we may be watching till September to get that true 1st cold front.

The 12z Euro ensembles arent as eager as the op.
