...Fast recovery at 1 PM. Now up to 96...but worse...dewpoint 79...HI 114. That's the highest heat index reading since last week...

I assume dewpoints are beginning to pool ahead of surface boundary now slowly working in from the Northwest. That should enhance HI values through tomorrow...

KMEM at 99 at 3pm. Looks like another 100 plus day in the making. Very little CU development today allowing temps to soar despite the lone t-storm yesterday at the airport.

It will be 100 for the 4 PM ob at KMEM...dewpoint is dropping though...so the heat index will have "cooled" to about 112.

Looks like KMEM will hold at 100 for the high of the day...

Cu has grow pretty rapidly in E Shelby County/Cordova in the last 30 minutes. Nothing "towering" yet but there may still be time yet for a few showers to pop up...and it would certainly seem this is the likely area since its been that way for the last two weeks...otherwise this may be the first day in about 14 or 15 that convection does not develop in the E/SE Shelby County area...

Looks like KMEM may end up at 99 for the day...hit it shortly before 3 but have since fallen back. Peak HI has been 116 though...which is higher than yesterday.

Break comes tomorrow...though slight...perhaps more significant in the middle of the week. Unfortunately models are building the ridge back by next weekend...though not sure it will end up as hot as the past two weeks...

yeah what little break we get this week looks short lived    i am affraid. the 18z  shows the ridge screaming back in place. wouldnt suprise me one bit to see triple digits by the end of next weekend. we need a nice tropical system to come up, thats if it can break through the ridge. so get used of the ::hot::

18Z though.  ;)

Hopefully, it's just one of those blowtorch runs that get thrown into the mix like we see during the winter.

What a difference a day makes! :D Feels great...it is warm but after the last two weeks you might as well say its early October!

So far...models are not getting too strong with ridging toward late-week and the weekend. Not a pattern changer to cool on tap at this point...but I think it may not get worse than mid-upper 90s and possible heat advisories...which is certainly more manageable and a sign that summer is slowly starting to fade...

Today feels great! ::applause:: Looks like the rest of the week may be like this, except by Wednesday when the t'storm chances ramp up.

Today feels the same as it did last week down here... We HAD been forecast to be in the low 90's until wed, then into the mid-upper 80's, but all that has changed now.  The ridge wins...again.  ::rant::
