You know its bad when places like Bama/Georgia get 5 inches while you're left high and dry.. I was watching it pull out of Bama, and it looked like it was gonna hit us when I went to Church, and it must've started moving more East rather than Northeast..

HAHA I also noticed when I moved to Tennessee about 8 years ago, it would snow 2 inches and the temperature would be around 22 and it would be completely cloudy and the snow would STILL MELT!!! it made no since.

Has to do with Sun's UV's breaking through clouds (no effect in January, full effect in March).. With that being said, I've seen snow come down at heavy rates and not stick to anything, not even grass, while the snow would come at lower rates and stick to roads. Weird weather

Yup it came right from the south, and then suddenly it stopped 10 miles south of me, turned west for a short time, then pulled back southeast. One of those weird lows

Yeah thats happened a few times when it doesn't stick AT ALL!! I think it was 2005 and it snowed all day, and when i watched the news that night they accidentally hit "snow total" according to the radar and it said we should already have 6-8 inches on the ground. Ended up with an inch. January 2003 was the perfect storm.

Does anyone remember the early February snow of 2003?? I have looked and looked and have found nothing about it. I think it was one of those south of I-40 ones. I got another 6 inches out of that one. It was a thick wet snow that stuck to everything. Does anyone remember that one??

I remember that one like it was yesterday. I LOVED that snow. It was probably the most I've seen since I've been alive, and at least as much. We got about 6 inches of heavy wet snow, and I was only a kid then.

Then there was the January 16, 2003 event that gave me a lot of snow, about 7 inches actually.

Would anyone happen to have a radar image of the January 16, 2003 storm??

2003 was a terrible year of heartbreak for me. I wound up with 1.5 lousy inches for the entire year while everybody around me got pummelled again and again. Don't ever want to go through that again . . . .

Or to look at the bigger picture, what does it take for Nashville to have an average year of snowfall? ::shrug:: I would be happier with 75% of our snowfall average if almost every city near this latitude wasn't already at double their seasonal snowfall average. Just sayin'.
