I've got about .75 or so, and it's still coming down, though the flakes have shrunk in size significantly. Temp is holding at about 30 degrees. The roads are still just wet, though I've heard that I-75 south into north georgia is getting bad.

Any idea on specific type?  We see Blackhawks all the time here in Smyrna from the airport Army NG station here.

Occasionally, you will see an Apache or two fly out of there.  I used to work for a company that did work at the guard base, and there were times we had to go into the aircraft hangers.  There were usually one or two AH-64s in there with their hoods up.  One can't appreciate the beauty of those birds until you're breathing on one.

I'm surprised that the roads are in such good condition. I know that some were pretreated, but it's only sticking to the corners of my driveway at this point. Usually after a cold night, snow at 30 degrees sticks to everything. Coming back from work at 11pm tonight will be fun. Everything will have frozen over by then I'm sure.

I Am an avid fan of aviation. It's not unusual to see one or two flying over but four was awe inspiring. When I was in flight school at MTSU I had the great fortune of getting flight time the day before the Smyrna airshow, flying off of my wing was the Heritage formation, they were flying close enough to me (on purpose) and slowed long enough to give me a wave and a wiggle, before leaving me behind. That acknowledgment is still one of the most memorable moments in my life.

The NAM (I know it is probably worthless inside of 12 hours, but still) is trying to stall out the back edge of the precip over Chattanooga for the next 12 hours. We could wind up with a good deal more if that happens.

Congrats to the snow getters!  ::snowman::

No problem here... I've already seen snow in those amounts this winter.
