2/8 0Z GFS shows snow for southern Mississippi, southern Alabama, southern Georgia, and maybe Florida....sickening and unnatural.
00z GFS stinks for middle TN. Was hoping to see at least a little bit of a northward trend on this run. Oh well, there's still plenty of time.
What is making the low take such a southern track? Its not a like there is a huge dome of cold air sitting over us. We are cold but not that cold that the low would track through Tampa.
A WAVE IS EXPECTED TOCROSS THE GULF OF MEXICO DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THEPERIOD...AND THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR THE LOW TO TRACK FARTHERNORTH BY THE TIME IT REACHES THE SOUTHEAST COASTAL WATERS.
it will trend north.
If it's any indication, while watching the News 2 weather last night, Brother Davis did mention the possibility of "another winter storm" Friday. He said, and I paraphrase, "The long range models show a significant storm system passing to our south. That will have to be watched, though. My old meteorological professors said those lows shunted that far south on long range models tend to jump back northward." I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I think it comes back north as well. But it is concerning that the Euro is THAT far south.
And I'm not buying snow for Mobile, either.
