Great pics everyone. I'm working on uploading my videos from our "chase" haha.

Here are a few pictures I took.

We stood in the middle of several 4-lane highways which were totally deserted. It was wild.

One of three Wal-Mart's I had been to that day lol.

From Warriors Path State Park.

My antennas covered by snow.

Yep...two are ham antennas and one is for a cb. I only use the cb every now and then.

2m quarter-wave
Wilson Lil Will cb antenna
Three-pronged tri-band antenna (2m, 220mhz, 440mhz) (my favorite)

And more to come lol.

Ive got  1.25 acres, wooded, so it makes for great antenna hanging. Ive got an 80m wyndham (similar to a dipole, but fed at 1/3 instead of 1/2) up about 65 ft, and a 2m/6m/440 Diamond tri band base station vertical hoisted up in a tree about 45 ft up.  Maybe we should move this discussion to a new thread.

Nice video Thundersnow!

Yea, I'm sure there are some others around the forum who can contribute to the discussion on ham radio as well. If you want to go ahead and start a new thread, I'll continue on there as well.

I don't have any base units or anything...just a Yaesu 2900, Kenwood Th-F6A (which I rarely use), and an old Midland CB radio. All the antennas are mag mounts and it looks really professional with all the coax running off the roof through a back door.  ::rofl::

I am looking to put up a j-pole at some point for the 2900 but it'll probably be a while.

Bogans isn't a snow dog.  This is a picture at the end when we got our 5.7 inches.  Which was the greatest amount since March 1996(9.0), and close to what we got during the March 2008 storm(5.5)

What does Winter 11-12 hold??
The NAO,PNA,PDO,MJO, etc.. and Storm Track will decide.

Here y'all go:

This is just a general shot showing the snow we got.

Ditto.

Here is a damage shot.  Most of the pines around campus at least lost some limbs.  A couple toppled over completely.

And this is why.

Here's a shot through one of the archways on campus.  Probably would've been more scenic if the shot weren't slightly off-kilter.

Here's a close-up showing some pretty thick icing on a branch.

Finally, here's a shot I took with the sun gleaming off the ice in the trees.
Grad student in English.  Now living in VA.  Still hoping for snow in TN!

We still have a solid snow cover here.  This is the longest I've seen snow stay on the ground in quite some time.

Temperatures in the 40s today should do a number on it though.
