I'm getting good snowfall, moderate with wind blowing, and it has already started sticking to the roofs/cars. Too bad its about gone for my area though...

I drove through some heavy snow on our way from Nashville.  Light snow in CKV but it doesn't look like anything substantial.  Roads are clear, too.  Time to look for the next chances.

Memphis's recorded snowfall yesterday was 5.0 inches according to the latest CLIMEM. Prelim data says KMEM recorded another 0.2 inches or so of snow this morning. Combined with the other snowfall events of the last month or so...the seasonal total at KMEM is now 6.6 inches.

That...should it hold up as expected...will officially give Memphis its first above average snowfall season since 1987-1988...seasonal average being 5.7 inches...

Wow I wish I would have been able to follow MEM more during the last event.

What do the roads look like in Nashville, TS or Nash wx? On the westside?

Should be pretty good. I would say any water that could be running off into the road could cause black ice. Just be aware of your surroundings and do not ride on the edges of the road.

I did notice a small patch or two of black ice tonight on a couple of the roads.  But, it's mostly dry.

Temp in Lafayette is 21 now.... not sure about the windchill but I can tell it is really rough out there.  I had to stop to get gas so I wouldn't have to do it in the morning.

Roads have black ice on them in town and are very slick.  I slid going to a meeting at 5:30 this evening.
Just now learning about the weather (other than what I hear on tv)  Please bear with me.

It's been a while since I've seen blowing snow like we had up here tonight. Moderate snow combined with gusty winds created what almost seemed like white-out conditions on the roads. It wouldn't have been as bad if it hadn't been dark. It was a very difficult to see to drive. Throw in the slick road conditions and a 10-minute drive home took me a half hour tonight. It has stopped now but it didn't take long for 3/4" or so to accumulate.

This may be my surprise snow event of the year, because its still snowing hard, and the radar returns just keep filling in and in and in. The line was about 20 minutes from my house, but now it is around 40 now.

Getting close to 2" total here. A little over an inch from yesterday and closing in on a inch from last night and today's action. Still snowing pretty good too and adding to those numbers.
