Well, here in Wilson County our elementary schools start at 7:15 so the bus picks up at 6:20.  I kinda would like to know before I have to wake up 3 crabby boys. I expect that we will go late, running out of snow days here!
Yes, but, to be more efficient with snow days you have to make the most educated decision possible. This borderline event is a perfect example of why you can't always jump the gun at 8 o' clock in the evening during iffy scenarios.

Way to go Little Rock. That's probably 2 years worth of snow in one event for them.

The bigger flakes are noisy. That's the 4th report of that.

Just went out to measure and there are some ice pellets mixed in, and our temp. has climbed to 32.2F. ::doh::

::rofl:: Our satellite is beginning to mess up, and that only happens when we get very heavy rain.

I'm hoping this time around it is snow though. ;D

Checked outside again and only large flakes are falling, but not a lot of them.

Actually, they average about five inches per year.  At least they used to...  they have been in a long snow drought as well.  I'm sure my Dad has been out with a shovel to "clean the driveway."  When I was a kid, that always translated into tracing bunnies on the concrete.

I was keeping up but then I take a 3 hr nap and theres 34 new pages on the thread. Anything from kmem worth mentioning that is better than my nap?   ::candle:: ::fingerscrossed::

At least Im still in the advisory... except I did hear the local met make mention of ice. Ice is not my friend.  ::wow::

I had to go out earlier and wipe the snow off the dish.  Sometimes when we get a wet snow like this one, the dish gets enough snow cover to interrupt service.  I read where folks up north spray their dish with Pam.

Well I'm headed to bed. Here's to hoping the cold air moves in quickly again and we finish with some snow on the ground.

All snow again and these are fat flakes, biggest flakes I have seen in quite some time.

OHX has cancelled all Winter Weather Advisories. Now just have the Winter Storm Warnings in effect.

Why was the WWA in effect until noon tomorrow if they thought about canceling it for tonight?

I am down to 32.2 and slowly dropping. the ULL low could put down 1/2 to 1 inch. Rush hour is gonna be messy with all of the slush freezing with the possibility of another inch later on.

I just guessed 4" or so. You're right, it's actually 5.1" according to Weatherbase. My family is largely from NE Arkansas and the southern Bootheel of MO. I'm in the Natural State pretty often.

I bet the higher elevations of Davidson County (>1000'), are getting some light accumulating ice. I'm at 32.1º and near the base of one that is usually 1 or 2º cooler than I am when there's not low lying temp inversion.

Wilson County has said they are considering the situation and will make a call in the morning...
