temps at 925mb are at or getting close to freezing.

Bummer... I'll miss the familiar urgency of the all caps regardless of the real urgency.
A TRANQUIL WEATHER PATTERN BRINGING FAIR SKIES WILL DOMINATE THE REGION.

As a NJ native, I remember the Epiphany blizzard of January 1996; we got 32" of snow. It was supposed to start after 12 noon on a Sunday morning and we woke up to go to church only to find it already snowing. My husband was away on business and I had a 3 year old and a 9 month old. We sprinted to the supermarket to get diapers & formula; I waited on line for an hour and a half  :o My husband couldn't get home until Tuesday because they closed the NJ turnpike. I think the kids went back to school on Wednesday (2 snow days.) The biggest problem was that the department of public works ran out of places to put the snow so they started dumping it in the river.

The last big snow we had before we relo'd to TN was President's Day weekend of 2003. We ended up getting 28" of snow. I think it started snowing on a Saturday and stopped on a Sunday. The kids were already off on Monday for the holiday; they had a snow day on Tuesday and went back on Wednesday. We flew (preplanned) to Nashville on the Thursday to see if we wanted to make the move. I saw green grass, turned to my husband and said "sign the papers!"

12 pages and when things are getting interesting no one has anything to say????

First of let me start out ... It is around 12:30AM and precipitation is beginning to fill in around Davidson county. Over the last 20 minutes I have noticed bright banding North of Nashville. Latest RUC shows moisture from 500-700mb is moving down from the North, NW. At the current time Paducah looks to be seeing good radar returns. 850-925mb temps are at or below freezing working their way down to the surface from the NW. Another update shortly.

Sitting at 39 degrees right now.  Will the cold air make it in time before the moisture scoots out?

Winds right now are rockin from the West. Winds looks to turn to the NW from 850mb down with time so we will see how the layer below 925 does as it looks like areas NW and upto BNA are just at freezing. You are in a better location than I am.

Not sure when the changeover occurred here, but we have about an inch on the cars and deck with a dusting or so on the grass. Temp. has dropped to 31.5F and if it has stayed below freezing for a couple of hours and may not get above freezing til 7 or 8 which could cause some side roads to get slick.

Moderate snow here, just not big enough of a band to do anything. It is sticking to cars/roofs though
