Well A surprise Snow in East Tn tonight Jan 1

All local channels were calling for rain, that's accu, NWS, and all local tv affialites.  I m right on the TENN/VA border on top of ridge and I have 1.5 inches so far but it's not sticking well to the road.  If it does this all night I will get 5-6 inches again but I think warmer air is moving in sometime after midnight so we will see. 

But it's a feather in my cap to look out and see this especially when it was not forecasted.

You must be the benefactor of some elevation. TRI is showing rain and 39 with a dp of 33.

Yeah well I am at a slight elevation but not a major advantage.  Clinch mountain is the nearest mountain range and I'd say they are getting hammered up on that thing.  But all my radar is showing rain and temps like you stated.  Weird

How much did you end up getting? Lol. I haven't seen snow yet this year and you've had multiple accumulating snows.

It sleeted for a second in Kingsport. Did you see any snow up there?

Laid down about 2 inches, then changed to rain and it had all but melted by the morning, although  their was about half-inch when I woke up...

Certainly not much to talk about but it was pretty.

Maybe not much to talk about, but certainly more than most of the rest of us can talk about. 

I'm hoping we all get a good one across the state before long.  It'll be nice if that happens next week, but it's too early to say yet.
