Just ran some prelim numbers for over here in Cookeville....

56° during 2009 while the average is 57°

Our coop station reported 65.24" of rain while I had 76+" at my CoCoRaHS station ...Average annual rainfall is 57.82"

Still running my temp numbers and should have them later along with other rainfall #'s from across our county...

What a year! :)

Finished with 76.04" of rain for 2009
Average is 57.82"

Temperatures ran right at normal for 2009

Interesting months of precip
Very wet in May, July, September, and October
Bone dry in August and November

During the great Sept flood, our NWS Coop Station (located south of town) recorded much less than stations in town and just to the north of the city. Their total for September (6.94") was less than half of my 14.81" and I didn't record the most. Several stations recorded more than 15". Without CoCoRaHS, we may have never know how much rainfall was received in those areas.

I just have two different rain guages is use. I always try to keep at least 2 at all times in case one gets broke somehow, like by hail or something.
