Dry air is really eating at the moisture we have and LMK is seeing it and mentioned it in the AFD. If this continues, we may not see much in the way of snow even in the air by this afternoon...just my  ::twocents::

The Mid Atlantic is certainly being buried.  Parts of Virginia already have over 15 inches.  Major airlines are closing all flights at D.C.  Biggest storm in that region since 1996.

I kind of enjoyed seeing the mid-Atlantic snow weenies in misery year after year.   >:D   They finally got their storm though.  Maybe mother nature can throw us a bone in January.

I just hope she throws us something. haha Even though last year southern middle TN did have a good 8" snow...I haven't had one of those in a good while.

My goodness, the banding in the DC area is just simply amazing per nexrad (and lots of TSSN reported). The dry slot is swinging up through southern jersey into philly but the snow is backing up into DC with no let up until tonight. This is a classic example of how to get 2 feet of snow in less than 24 hours.

Must say though that our March 1 storm was pretty dang impressive for not living near the coast.

EDIT I think this really may be an epic snow for this I-95 corridor, especially from Philly south. DC should approach and surpass blizzard of ' 96 accums. JEALOUS. >:D

Is anyone seeing anything? I have been seeing a light snow shower for about an hour. Of course temps. are too high for accumulation, but it is nice to see more coming this way.

It isn't big flakes at all...we have had all snow here for about an hour and the only signs of anything haven fallen are the wet roadways. We will have to watch for some ice to form on the roads when we get under freezing, snow or no snow on the ground.

We have had a little sleet mixed in a very light rain. Temps going back and forth from 36 - 34 degrees. The wind has gotten up in the last hour.

Now I have snow mixing in with the sleet and 35.0, I hope this is getting us ready for the big one next week.

Guys if I see two flurries in the air, I'll call it a win for me.  ::yum::
