The 12/10 12Z Euro and 18Z GFS appear to show a near miss. We just need the cold air to arrive a little quicker and/or the low coming up from the south to slow down and strengthen. I think this is an improvement over yesterday's model runs but will the trend continue? I am interested to see what the 12/11 0Z runs show. The models do not seem to have locked in on a solution yet and there is a fair amount of run to run variability especially in the long range.

Certianly better than previous runs, though I'm investing much stock in it yet.. I would expect a H system to drop out of Canada a lot deeper than the GFS is showing. That's a lot of cold air to just stay bottled up at the border. We'll see I guess. There's still over a 100hrs to work it out bit.  ::fingerscrossed::

12/11 0Z classic GFS shows more precip but the cold air is of course late to arrive. There are significant differences between the classic GFS and the para GFS which in addition to the run to run variability tells me the models are struggling with this pattern.

It will be interesting to know which one has a better track record in the long run.

I would hope the para, since that is the new version.

Oops...I was talking about the 12/21 system being interesting rather than the 12/16 system.

12/11 12Z GFS and Euro show rain followed by cold.

12/12 12Z models runs say stick a fork in it for Tues-Weds. However, the Euro shows something may be brewing for next weekend.

Before voodoo land I didn't see too much. Course news runs might be different. Haven't checked them yet.
