probably on the next run.  Than something like it will probably come back 10 days out and get us excited again.  That may or may not go poof, or it may give everyone a headache for Christmas.

What does Winter 11-12 hold??
The NAO,PNA,PDO,MJO, etc.. and Storm Track will decide.

Seriously, though, while we all know that isn't likely to pan out, the GFS has been indicating a storm in the Gulf in that time frame every run since yesterday's 0z.

that is definetly weather porn there. nice. if that storm there would to happen we would be b..uried.  but i love the pattern we are heading. this is definetly going to be a wet winter. sub tropcial jet is going to be very active. we just need the cold and i think that will be no problem down the road. snow cover croos country will only get better.

Last year before Christmas the GFS was showing a monster snow storm for the Southeast and Middle Tennessee, I wonder how this could be?????

6z GFS was a little strange. It doesn't buy the deep Gulf low in the 12/21-22 timeframe, instead tracking a weak disturbance through the Southeast that would provide light accumulating snow on 12/22-23...if you buy what the 6z GFS is selling in that distant range.  ;D

12z has lost it all together.  Not that I'm surprised...... ::coffee::

looks to me the 12z is showing us between two systems on xmas eve. one to our north. one to our south, with plenty cold though.

There is an interesting post over on Nashvillewx.com discussing the up coming weather pattern and the overall winter out look. Most of what is said on it has been discussed already on here pretty thouroughly but I thought some of you might be interested in their explanation.

The 6z GFS once again suggests a white Christmas for parts of Tennessee. But the overall trend of the models isn't a good one. I fear we're on the verge of wasting one of the best December patterns we've seen in a number of years. But, the PNA hasn't even made it to positive territory yet, so there's still plenty of time for the model trends to reverse themselves. (Well, to be fair, the GFS trend...I haven't even looked at the Euro the past few days; anyone know what it is showing in the extended?)

Keep in mind that we're not even into the winter season yet (doesn't start until Dec 23, I believe).  Normally, our coldest months are late January into mid-February.  I'm sure there will be a few more chances of snow coming down the pipe.  Keep the faith, brother.

Whoa, why the are you 2 committing suicide? Crockett, do not worry about the PNA. Tennessee storm, do not get worried with enso. Like I keep saying the 2nd half of this month I believe is going to end up fantastic. No one is clinging to 144+ hours on the GFS/Euro . Keep it together!
