I thought we were done with these? Maybe the stretch of warmer temps prompted them to remind people it is close to winter.

Nope... and as long as the Nashville heat island doesn't drop much below 32, we'll probably keep seeing them.  >:D

Got to get some widespread mid 20s in here to really shut it down, I guess.

A frost advisory in late November? That is beyond absurd.

Well the interesting thing this fall so far is that most of the events that took us to <=32F were when radiational cooling was at its max. We have not really had a cold source to draw cold dense air in from so widespread CAA has not been present thus far this month.

Then just issue Davidson County in the Frost Advisory. I can see why they would keep issuing the Freeze Watches because everyone hasn't seen a freeze, but I know that most counties have had to had at least one frost by now.

Here is an explanation for the continued issuance of freeze watches.

Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Nashville Tennessee
345 PM CST Wednesday Nov 25 2009

Discussion...
forecast reasoning will be based on a lean toward a Euro solution for
the forecast period unless otherwise noted.

...

Forecast quandaries...for tonight...one quandary centers around the
possibility of the issuance of a frost advisory or freeze warning
for areas west of the Cumberland Plateau.Local criteria states that
continued issuance of these products for areas that have not
experienced a killing freeze...temperatures equal to or less than 27
degrees...through Nov. 30th.
Clouds presently across S Illinois into SW MO
Ozarks are expected to move across the middle state after midnight
tonight in association with a shortwave passage around the base of a
deepening upper level trough associated with an upper level low
moving northeastward into north Indiana by around 12z Thursday. There might be some
clearing behind this passage...but at this time...even with temperatures
possibly falling into the frost advisory window...33 to 36 degrees
..winds should be in the 5 to 10 miles per hour range and not decouple from
the boundary layer. With this in mind...GFS MOS values seems to
handle this scenario well...and will lean accordingly.

Hire the left-handed --- its fun to watch them write.

Well, this should have been issued yesterday. lol I say that because OHX has had a little "slip-up" in their forecasts. It has that we have a low of 14F tonight (occurring now) and temps. should rise to about 37F by 7 pm. Opps!  ;)

Where are you located? I noticed a few Weatherbug stations made it into the 20s this morning. The sheltered valleys block winds which allows for a temperature inversion to form and for full radiational cooling.

A few stations in West TN are already in the mid to upper 20s. The Memphis UHI is in FULL effect as there is nearly a 10º difference between Downtown and the burbs/countryside.
