Well since other models are starting to catch on to this if we can get a little more ensemble support then we may have ourselves a snowlow. The location of that high over the Atlantic is classic for inducing the GFS NW trend.

I agree.

My current temperature is 25.7 with heavy frost.  And, as pointed out, today is December 1st, first day of meteorological winter.

Happy Winter everyone.   ::snowman::  ::snowman::

Good luck lets hope we get a more moist and slight NW trend on that system so that most of Mid TN can enjoy.

I will probably be missing out on this one, but it will be fun to watch any of you guys get in the action.

What does Winter 11-12 hold??
The NAO,PNA,PDO,MJO, etc.. and Storm Track will decide.

Looks like the pattern change and cold December idea is falling apart rather quickly.  Models seem to be showing a quick cool down then back to zonal pac flow again.

Relax, the up and coming pattern looks pretty good. I think we will have our shots at snow. ::bacon::

Yup a lot of forecasters are wondering what the heck is going to happen. Will December end up more along the lines of Climo? Its crazy how hardcore models can latch on to something then change the overall look. Not that this is bad but the overall look past day 10 is pretty hard to figure out right now.

Yep, another reason why forecasting weather is so humbling but at the same time fun.  The unknown.

Looks like someone in the deep south could get a slushy inch.

Although it looks like we wont see any major snow in the next week or so, quite a bit of snowcover should be laid down over the plains and midwest in the next 2 weeks per models. This is defintely a part of the puzzle along with several others.

Will the snow cover help keep cold air cold while it helps provide us with snow?
