Frost Advisory in effect yet again tonight.

I guess they'll be issuing this every time there's a chance for frost until OHX decides the whole area has received a freeze.  ::shrug::

I've already had a freeze here in Macon County, so I do not know why they keep putting us in a frost advisory. But anyway, I have a current reading of 32.4F.

It's almost embarassing that they keep reissuing these.  I've not noticed offices to the north of us doing this, while we seem to go through it every year.  It's not like we live in central Florida.

So far, freezes in  Rutherford County have been spotty.  There are still a lot of places scattered about where impatiens and other tropcials are thriving (but looking a little tired), while  I've  had two freezes at the house.

I got to 30.9 F early this morning.  Lots of slushy frost on the grass.
Hire the left-handed --- its fun to watch them write.

I don't think I remember so many reissuances.  I recall freeze warnings being issued a couple of times, maybe, if temps didn't drop as cold as forecast on the first warning issued.

With the fairly widespread frost most areas have seen already, even if not everyone has had a hard freeze, I would think most folks have taken in their sensitive plants for the season by now... anything worth saving, anyway.

I suppose someone out there might still be holding out to pick their last couple of tomatoes off the vine.  ::shrug::

I would think any crops/produce on a large scale have been harvested by now though... surely.  We're actually a little past the average date of first freeze anyway.

Maybe if you live smack dab in Downtown Nashville there hasn't been a frost but then again there aren't a whole lot of agriculture interests there either.

I've got good news...OHX and MEG aren't the only offices still posting Freeze Watches. The Mount Holly, NJ office has some posted too. So we are not alone!!! ;D

Looking a bit closer in time on the 12Z. This timeframe is still 10+ days away. 12Z looks 2 days faster and slide a 1040H down into the lower plains/east. Its better seen on 500mb maps but I will stay with the 850 0c line maps so that people follow. So we may get a brief cold shot but I believe it will be followed by a continued Zonal Pattern at least till mid month. Pacific has to slow down and a good western ridge has to build before we can get anything locked in. Anyhow it is hard to complain with highs in the 60's and lows in the 30's.

We've had some really nice days but I'm starting to get bored.  Lets get some cold shots in here.

Agreed.  Other than the negative impacts on deer hunting, I enjoy warm and dry periods in November and even on into December a ways.  Allows me to get caught up on all my outdoor chores around the property and not eat into the woodpile much before the heart of winter.  Generally speaking there is not a great chance of big snow or extended cold in late fall or early winter anyway.  I'm a big fan of saving up the below normal stuff for a nice stretch of real cold and winter precip sometime from January 1 thru mid February.  Think mid January-early Feb 1985.  ::cold::  If I could get a three week stretch like that most years the rest of the winter could torch and I'd still be happy.   ;)
