00Z update tonight shows a even more interesting look. If you are asking youself what month it is, the answer is October and we are not even half way there. Looking shortly ahead here we see the first real cold shot that will send temps into the 30's if not down to the freezing mark in some locations. Taking a look at the latest run of the GFS we see @ 500mb a ull cut off. I will not comment much because its so early in the season but it would be rather sweet to see parts of the Highland Rim see some form of FRZ precip.
500mb
Looking at 1000/500mb thickness one would see that it could support snow. Have not looked at a sounding for that time frame. Points along the TN/KY see to be right there. Also below are temps at 850mb.
