It is not uncommon for while the towns and urban areas are in the mid 40's for the rural and sheltered valleys to be in the mid to upper 30's.  Last October early in the month several of those areas received a freeze while Nashville and Clarksville and the larger population centers didn't even fall below 38.

What does Winter 11-12 hold??
The NAO,PNA,PDO,MJO, etc.. and Storm Track will decide.

I don't think many, if any will go into the 30s during this cold stretch.

I have a current dew point of 39º. Wow!  :o  :)

While the NWS will logically forecast Northern Middle TN (Nashville and north) to be cooler, on strong radiational cooling mornings Southern Middle TN tends to be cooler in spots than here especially on the Highland Rim.

Already down to 59.1F. Took a second but Bellevue is start to drop fast. This area seems to always record some of the lower temps. Temp outside my window on 2nd floor is 58.7F  I am somewhat right outside bellevue next to Werner parks.

I'm not for sure if we will hit the upper 40s at this point in the Nashville area tonight if the winds don't settle down. Winds are between 3 and 6 MPH here still. I started falling early as I usually do (my part of town cools quickly as a general rule) but temps have stalled here.

Point taken that some are falling. Valleys will be much cooler than everyone else due to the fact that they are somewhat protected from the winds.

WOW! That's the coolest report I've seen in the Nashville area.

52.9º here...

Happened again this morning.  It even extends across the TN River into SE west Tennessee.  Both Savannah and Lexington were fairly cool this morning compared to the rest of west and middle TN.

My low ended up at 44.4

I wouldn't be surprised to see some upper 30s tonight in southern middle TN.  McMinnville,  Winchester, and Savannah were at 42/43 this morning.  Unless the wind gets up I bet some of the coop sites make it.

The temperature dropped to 48 F here this morning.  I'm sure it was a degree or two colder down near the creek behind our house.  Lots of mist rising from the farm ponds on the way to work.
