Moisture seems to be pretty limited and @ 500mb looks less amplified. Not a huge change but the clipper clearly is not as organized. This could be due to the western ridge being a bit more amplified.

Here is our next historic storm. Too bad it is 10 days out but the general pattern at 500mb is what counts. Another look another run.

That looks like a snow-to-sleet-to-ice-to-rain-to-mix-to-snow scenario to me, not a bona fide snow system

Hard to say until I see the soundings. This would be major winter storm tho. That is given the GFS were to verify at that range.     ::doh::

I am sure the morning crew will take care of it. I usually do not get on before work.

00Z Euro

Looks like 1-3 inches, maybe a little more, per this run of the Euro for parts of TN.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it....yet.  The Euro is the only model showing something substantive during that timeframe.  The CMC shows nada.  The 06z GFS is 6 hours slower with less precip, but H7 analysis wants to pick up on something at 168 hours - the same timeframe as the posted images of the Euro.  As with any case of snow here in the south, we won't know what's coming till the day of.  Even then it's a crap shoot.
