The 0z NAM has certainly made things more interesting for the Mid-South. Still a ways out there (well...only about 36 hours out but still a ways for this situation) but perhaps winter not over yet for some part of our area...

Yeah really... and, the 0Z GFS seems to be following suit somewhat.

42-48 hours on either model looking quite interesting around Jonesboro, AR, and possibly northwestern TN from Dyersburg to Clarksville.  Nashville and Memphis are more marginal.  ::pondering::

Wonder what the soundings show at either location.

0 NAM soudings sure looks much more interesting for KMEM, but especially points just to the north, with a couple of inches of snow at Jonesboro. Per NAM freezing line makes it to KMEM for several hours with mostly rain, but with a transition to freezing rain at the end. Not sure if those 2m temps at 32 for several hours before the switch at 32 degrees wouls be all rain? If freezing rain we would be looking at something much more significant. KNQA (Millington or the northern Memphis suburbs look worse than the city with freezing rain and a half inch of snow to boot. Cant believe there are no sleet soundings in the mix...no pun intended. Kevin, please correct me if
I am wrong.

GFS is even colder with more winter mix in the area. Guess this arctic surge is a little stronger than expected. Will be an interesting overnight tomorrow night into Thursday for sure.

OHX has issued some Winter Storm Watches for the Clarksville and Dover regions where 2-4" of snow could be possible. They are saying for my county that we could get some snow accumulation up to an inch with .10" of ice possible too. I think we are going to have to watch the freezing rain potential more here North of Nashville.

Now that it is officially Spring, we'll lock Winter 2008-2009 in The Archives.  If something surprising happens  ::rofl:: , then we can call it The Spring Fluke or something....unless someone gets "testy" about the thread name  ::) , then we can tone down the silliness and give everyone a  ::bacon::   I-V to calm nerves.

Until July!!!!  ....*when we start discussing The Winter of 2009-2010*  ::snowman::
