I hope the March '08 winter storm was a harbinger of better things to come. I am SO ready for winter to revert back to normal or even below normal for awhile. Dang, I cant remember the last time January was actually snowy and cold. Its about time.

Time to bring on that snowy January and cold it has to happen sometime.  And also a nice cold December like 2004 dream storm or even Dec. 2000 would be nice to.

For those who missed that 2004 storm I am sorry you missed a great one.

Albeit 12/04 was 3 inches of sleet for me...much better for you. First white Christmas in ages(and probably last)

I got 3 to 4 inches of snow on top of 2 inches of sleet with 1/4 inch of ice.

Henderson KY got up to 24 inches of straight up snow.

My friend from up that way said that when they piled all the snow into piles.

Some of the piles were several feet tall and didn't melt for months he said.

Also Henderson had a -12F degree reading which is the only time I think West KY went sub zero this decade.

Christmas Travel was nasty if not impossible across West KY and even in West TN and NW parts of Middle TN.

I just hope this winter isn't like 2003-2004(depending on where your at) or 1994-1995 or those fluke like winters that come and dissapoint everyone after a good winter.

I can only hope for some nice, serious snowage here.  We don't get it often enough, imho, and it'd do wonders for killing off half these bugs!

I have some strong thoughts about this coming winter that I will share later, but I will say that if this year continues on normal track then we may get more snow this year. Right now it appears pretty neutral concerning el and la Niño’s.

I will probably wait till late August to do my first early Winter lookout.

Neutral years can really rock.  Lets say I feel the force is strong with this one.

The only neutral year I know of is 1959-60( I;m sure we know what that winter did) .  And 2004-05 was a very weak nino/neutral.  Don't worry I'm not that mad to forecast a 59-60 or at least not yet.

Is there a link that tells what years are El Nino, La Nina, or Neutral. I'm sure there is I just cant find it

I'm buying as much time as I can. I usually wait until November to do my Winter Outlooks for MTWC.

All we can go is get though the dog days of summer. Then the fun fall days.  Than we can hope for scenes like this.   ::snow::  Wouldn't mind a good Dec. snowstorm either.  Snowstorms and for me even ice storms and wintry mix scenes are fun anytime of the year.

Only bad thing about about ice is it knocks power out and is not fun to drive or walk on.

I'm personally enjoying summer... the long days, summer outdoor activities, etc.

It can take its time, as far as I'm concerned.  8)

I agree Let Mother Nature do her thing. The seasons will change soon enough. Some of you all have a snow addiction worse than gambling. I can play the lotto miss all the numbers and scratch a dud and be cool with it, but we miss out on 1 snow chance the whole community goes berserk like servocrow does when she can't find her  ::bacon::  ::doh::  Anyways chillax friends. You spend to much time much time getting frustrating and venting  ::rant:: about winter then it will surely be to warm to snow- like last year.  ;)
